We are instructed in Eph. 4:11-13 to equip the saints for the work of the ministry.
In the natural, school teachers have a goal of taking their students from one level to the next. An exam reveals the degree of advancement. If a school teacher has a majority of students who can’t pass the test, they are considered a failure.
Equipping means more than simply teaching the material. If we do this, we are merely lecturers. It means we’re expecting a change in behavior, not just passing on information each week. Activation or practicing is part of this, but there are other aspects of repetition, questioning, modeling and accountability.
All of these are found in the manual.
THE MANUAL CAN BE USED FOR EQUIPPING ONE ON ONE OR IN A GROUP.
